Recently, activities have been held by the Japanese Department including the Sakura Melodious Sound Japanese anime and TV soaps dubbing contest as well as the Japanese tea ceremony as part of the 10th anniversary series of activities.
Sakura Melodious Sound Japanese anime and TV soaps dubbing contest aimed at arousing students’ interest in Japanese learning, enriching students study life. The competition was divided into Chinese dubbing and Japanese dubbing. Each group member of the two groups selected Japanese anime or video drama for dubbing. After the preliminaries and finals, JJJ team won the Chinese dubbing Sakura Award while “Four Small Golden Flowers team won the Japanese dubbing Sakura Award. Jiang Xiaoting has obtained the best Chinese dubbing award while Lin Yingshan obtained the best Japanese dubbing individual award.
The Japanese tea ceremony was open to all TKK staff. Ms.Kubo Sakiko, a Japanese teacher in TKK college, performed an authentic tea ceremony in kimono for the staff to enjoy the on-site production of green tea and exquisite Japanese-style snacks. Teachers who participated in the Japanese tea ceremony and other Japanese cultural phenomena presented their topics of interest. Kubo Sakiko also explained the different genres of Japanese tea ceremonies as well as the meaning of ichigo ichie.
It is reported that Japanese Department will continue to carry out subsequent activities to help students experience the Japanese kimono and Japanese ikebana.
